Cheera Thoran (Spinach Dal Stir Fry)

 



Ingredients
  • Spinach chopped (green) - 3 cup
  • Cooked Chana Dal - 1/4 cup
  • Green Chilli -1 (chopped)
  • Curry Leaves - few
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Red Chilli flakes  - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Oil- 1 tsp
  • Salt - To taste



To Grind (Coarse)
  • Coconut - 1/4 cup
  • Pearl Onion  -  2 nos
  • Jeera (Cumin) -1 pinch
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt - 1 pinch


Method
  1. In a pan add oil. Splutter mustard seeds, split urad dal, whole red chilli, curry leaves. Add chopped spinach and salt sauté for 2 mins until spinach is cooked and all water is dried up. 
  2. Add cooked dal and mix well.
  3. Add grounded coconut mixture and sauté for 2-3 mins.
  4. Serve hot with rice.
