Kappa Vanpayar Puzhukku
Ingredients
- Tapioca - 2 cup (cubed )
- Green chilli -2
- Curry Leaves
- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Red chilli Powder - 1/4 tsp
- Water - 11/2 cup
- Salt - To taste
- Cooked red beans - 1/2 cup
To Grind (Coarse)
- Coconut - 1 cup
- Pearl Onion - 2 nos
- Jeera (Cumin) - 1 pinch
- Pepperpowder - 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
- Salt - 1 pinch
To dry roast and temper
- Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
- Red Chilli - 2
- Curry Leaves -few
- Oil- 2 tbsp
Method
- Peel the tapioca and cut to medium sized cubes.
- Wash well adnd transfer to a pressure cooker.
- Cook the cubed tapioca with salt, green chilli ,chilli and turmeric powder.
- Once cooked , open the lid and add cooked red bean and give a mix.
- Grind ingredients given in "To Grind " section to a coarse paste.
- Add grounded coconut mixture to the cooked tapioca and red bean.
- Cook for 5 mins in medium to low flame.
- In a pan add oil. Splutter mustard seeds,red chilli and curry leaves.
- Pour this on top of cooked mixture and mix well before serving.
- Tastes best with kanji or dosa.
