Vanpayar Mezhukkupuratti




Ingredients

  • Vanpayar(red bean)- 1cup
  • Onion/Shallots - 1/2 cup (sliced)
  • Curry Leaves
  • Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
  • Dried red chilli - 2
  • Green Chilli -  slit
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt - To taste
  • Water - 1 cup


Method

  1. Soak vanpayar overnight.
  2. In a pressure cooker add soaked vanpayar along with salt, water,turmeric powder , green chilli until done.
  3. Heat a pan. Add oil and splutter mustard seeds, dried red chilli and curyy leaves.
  4. Saute sliced onion, r and saute till light brown.
  5. Add chilli and turmeric powder and saute .
  6. Add cookedpayar and saute well.
  7. Serve hot with rice.
