CheruPayar Thoran
Ingredients

- Green Gram (cherupayar) - 1 cup
- Green Chili - 2 no
- Salt - To Taste
- Turmeric Powder - 1 /4 tsp
- Oil - 2 tsp
- Mustard seeds- 1tsp
- Curry Leaves - 1 spring
- Red Chilli - 1
- Water - 1/2 cup

- Soak cherupayar for a minimum of 4 hrs with enough water.
- Cook soaked payar with water, salt, chilli, turmeric, powder for 2 whistles/ until done.
- In a pan add oil.Splutter mustard seeds followed by red chilli and curry leaves.
- Add cooked payar and saute for 2 mins
- Add grounded coconut mixture and cook for 2 more mins.
- Switch off and add 1 tsp oil and curry leaves at the top.It enhances the taste.
- Serve hot with puttu, rice or kanji.
