Coconut Laddoo

                  A classic festival Indian dessert that is equally delicious and can be made in no  time.  It is mainly made during occasions and festive seasons. This soft , round coconut fudge ball is made with very few ingredients like desiccated coconut, milk and sugar and a little bit of ghee .

 Ingredients

  1. Desiccated  coconut - 1 cup +2tbsp for rolling
  2. Milk- 1/2 cup
  3. sugar - 1/2 cu
  4. Ghee - 1tsp

Method

  1. In a blender pulse the desiccated coconut 2 times .
  2. Heat a wide bottomed pan and add 1tsp ghee.
  3. Add desiccated coconut crumbs and gently toast i  medium to low flame till a nice aroma comes and ghee is mixed well in coconut.
  4. Add 1/2 cup milk and keep stirring till a coarse crumby texture is formed.
  5. Now add 1/2 cup sugar and keep stirring .Initially  sugar will melt and the mixture may appear liquidy. But keep stirring till most of the moisture has evaporated.
  6. Now switch off the flame and let it col for 10 minutes.
  7. Gently grease your palm with ghee and roll the mixture to small round balls.
  8. Roll the laddus on dried desiccated coconut.
  9. Store in air tight containers

Notes

  • It is optional to pulse the desiccated coconut to fine crumbs
  • Keep the flame throughout in medium to low flame stirring continuously, else the coconut will turn brown and alter the entire taste and texture of the laddoo.
