Kaya Mezhukkupuratti
Ingredients
- Kaya - 1
- Onion/Shallots - 1/2 cup (chopped)
- Curry Leaves
- Green Chilli - 2 slit
- Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
- Salt - To taste
- Water - 1/2 cup
Method
- Cut raw plantain to small cubes.
- Cook it with salt, water,turmeric powder , green chilli until done.
- Heat a pan. Add oil and splutter red chilli and curry leaves.
- Sauté chopped onion,
- Add chilli and turmeric powder and saute .
- Add cooked kaya and sauté well.
- Serve hot with rice.
- You can soak the cut plantain in water with 1/4 tsp turmeric to remove any stain oozing out from raw plantain.
- This recipe tastes best when served hot.
- Cooked red beans can also be added to this recipe if you prefer.
