Kaya Mezhukkupuratti

 


Ingredients
  • Kaya - 1
  • Onion/Shallots - 1/2 cup (chopped)
  • Curry Leaves
  • Green Chilli - 2 slit
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt - To taste
  • Water - 1/2 cup




Method
  1. Cut raw plantain to small  cubes.
  2. Cook it with salt, water,turmeric powder , green chilli until done.
  3. Heat a pan. Add oil and splutter red chilli and curry leaves.
  4. Sauté chopped onion, 
  5. Add chilli and turmeric powder and saute .
  6. Add cooked kaya and sauté well.
  7. Serve hot with rice.

Notes
  • You can soak the cut plantain in water with 1/4 tsp turmeric to  remove any stain oozing out from raw plantain.
  • This recipe tastes best when served hot.
  • Cooked red beans can also be added to this recipe if you prefer.
